Wareham Post #220 Coach "D's" Letter
Dear Post #220 Family,
With honor, I gladly accepted the opportunity to coach a group of terrific young men surrounded by the American Legion Post #220 baseball program. I am looking forward to having a successful season that will no doubt be an incredible summer baseball experience.
I want to thank Mr. James Muldoon and Coach John Muldoon for their trust in me and their extraordinary commitment to this program. The legionnaires and players should be proud of the work these gentlemen do for the program.
Please wish Coach Muldoon the best of luck in his new position with the Wareham Gateman in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. I know he’ll do an unbelievable job.
We will set many goals as we move forward throughout the year, but I’d like to identify three (3) “right off the bat”. a) FUNDRAISE! FUNDRAISE! b) Finalize our coaching staff c) Fill up our roster with quality young men aspiring to play a kids game.
Meetings will be set up in the near future to come up with ideas on specific fundraising efforts. We will need to identify our needs and set up a plan on how we would like to fulfill our financial needs to make our season a success. Please stay tuned!
Coach Steve Rumbolt (New Wareham High School Head Baseball Coach - Congratulations!) will remain on staff. In addition, we will be searching for two more assistant coaches. If you know of anyone interested, please have them contact Manager, Mr. James Muldoon at 508-295-4214.
Realistically, we have thirteen (13) returning players, thus potentially leaving room for five (5) new recruits. The objective is to find a notable group of first year players willing to contribute and be a huge part of our program. Without question, the core of our program is strong and I have no doubt we will work hard to continue right where we left off from last season.
I look forward to keeping the Post #220 baseball tradition alive. Best of luck to everyone involved; for those young men in school, stay focused and keep those grades up!
Sincerely,
Keith Delgado, Head Coach – Post #220 Baseball

Dear Post # 220 Baseball Family,
As you all are aware, I have stepped down as your Head Baseball Coach of the Wareham American Legion Post # 220 Baseball Team effective January 1, 2008. I hope you all understand that this was not an easy decision but a necessary one for my family and me. I made a commitment to myself and more importantly to the young men of Post # 220 Baseball that I would give all of myself to the program as long as I could and that is exactly what I have done. You all should be very proud of what we have accomplished over the past three years as a program. I can not express in words how thankful I am for the hard work and dedication you all have put in to our program. Post # 220 Baseball is better off now than it ever was and with the continued support of all of you it will only get better. The many memories and friendships that I have made are what made this decision one of the hardest in my life. So with that being said, I just wanted to thank you all one last time and let you all know that it was an absolute privilege to coach such fine young men. I look forward to seeing you all in the future and will continue fundraising for the program.
It is now time to look to the future and give you an update on what is going on with our program. We have appointed Coach Delgado as the New Head Baseball Coach of Post # 220 Baseball. Coach Delgado will be joined by Asst. Head Coach Steve Rumbolt and we are working on getting two more assistant coaches. If you know of anyone who is interested in helping out, please have them contact Manager James Muldoon @ 508-295-4214 we will be doing interviews for these positions ASAP. We have started our fundraising campaign and we will once again need all the help we can get. Parents, we will need your help with contacts and people who are interested in helping us raise the money necessary to run such a first class program. Our Goal will be $3,000.00-$4,000.00 and we be meeting as a staff to come up with the best to attain our goal. I know that we can do it!! We will be having a fundraising committee meeting this upcoming month and all are welcomed. I will be in touch with all to all of the parents once we have confirmed a time and place.
With the future looking so bright for Post # 220 Baseball, we should all be excited about the upcoming season. Be sure to visit our website for announcements about our players and our program @ www.post220baseball.com
